The BDC2 (Blood Drawing Chair for Children) promotes a positive experience before, during, and after a venipuncture procedure. The design allows easy access to young patients while assuaging a common childhood fear through appealing and recognizable imagary.
Providing a positive experience during this scary and difficult procedure can reduce or avoid a lifelong apprehension of needles and blood draws. Many adults who fear needles had a poor experience as a child.
